This starter policy is written for LessonPlanConverter.com as a teacher-facing tool. It is not legal advice. Have counsel review it before launch, especially before selling to schools or districts.
What We Do
LessonPlanConverter.com helps teachers convert an existing lesson plan into the format required by an administrator, school, or district.
Information We Collect
- Account information, such as your name and email address, through Clerk.
- Billing information through Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers.
- Usage information, such as conversion counts and rate-limit keys, through Upstash Redis.
- Files and lesson plan text you upload for conversion.
Lesson Plan Content
Uploaded files and lesson plan text are processed in memory to extract text, send the conversion request, and generate the editable Word output. We do not intentionally store uploaded lesson plan files or converted lesson plan content in a database or file storage system.
How We Use Information
- To provide the conversion service.
- To authenticate accounts and manage subscriptions.
- To prevent abuse, enforce plan limits, and troubleshoot the service.
- To communicate about account, billing, support, or product updates.
Service Providers
We use service providers to operate the app, including Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payments, Upstash for rate limiting and usage counters, Vercel for hosting, and OpenAI for AI conversion. These providers process information on our behalf according to their own terms and privacy commitments.
Student Information
LessonPlanConverter.com is intended for teachers and school staff, not for children to use directly. Do not upload unnecessary student personal information. If you use the service on behalf of a school or district, you are responsible for following your institution's policies and applicable student privacy laws.
Security
We use access controls, server-side API keys, rate limits, file size limits, and in-memory document processing to reduce risk. No online service can guarantee perfect security.
Your Choices
You may contact support to request help accessing, updating, or deleting account information. Subscription billing is managed through Stripe.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. The latest version will be posted on this page.
